And the Preparation Begins..

So in 3 days I start my adventure to China!! I'm getting so Excited I am supposed take to my friend at 8:30 Tuesday morning hopefully its just so hard to get times coordinated with the whole time difference thing.

I'm not the least bit nervous it really hasn't hit me that at the end of this week I will be on the other side of the world immersed in completely different culture where they don't speak English ahhhh!!

I have not even began packing yet like always I will probably wait till the last Minuit to start it. Its not traveling if you don't wait till you just have a few hours till you leave to pack.

I also still have to get a gift to give my friends family I have been trying to think of creative things to bring. I have pretty much decided I am going to go to Cracker Barrel and get some stuff there.

Thursday is going to be such a long day but I leave Atlanta at 8:30 AP for Seattle WA where I have to sit for piratically the whole day until 7 PM when I leave for Beijing.

I'm also not going to be sleeping all night Wednesday Miss Holly Morton is going to be my stay up all night buddy we have big plans of visiting waffle house hopefully that will be enough to keep me up all night and all the next day. This is probably going to be the most interesting part of the travel across the world because I tend to get a little grumpy when I stay up like that so will see how this goes.

I am so completely excited I can't believe that I will finally get to visit Wei in China!

3 Year

How can it be that 3 years ago I graduated from High School, that I am supposed be a senior in college next year?

Time really does fly by as you get older. It really quite sad. I miss the days when I didn't worry about anything and life was just a breeze.

The past 3 years have been the best years of my life I know that it is only going to get better!

Oprah Babies

I just watched that The Oprah Winfrey Show finale and I must admit that tears did roll down my cheeks. Like many other young women I grew up watching Oprah. My freshman year of college I was a faithful watcher. I would curl up in my little twin bed and get wrapped up in her show. So on this last show I want to remember this Quote by Oprah

"You are not all the things that happened to you, You are all the things that can be"

such beautiful words and spoken so well. This is something that I constantly have to remind my self. The past shouldn't control you its something that wont go away but don't let it engulf your life and prevent you from becoming all that God has planed for you to be.

Trip of a Lifetime

A week from today I will be getting on a plane and heading on my first adventure of the year. I will be heading to China alone to visit my dear friend and meet her family. I have been looking forward to this time since I was a freshman in high school so that would be like 7 years ago. I really don't feel like in a week I will be in a place where English isn't spoken. I really don't think that it will hit me until I land in China Friday night.

In a week I will be able to have said I visited the Great Wall of China. This is the one thing I am looking most forward to doing. I'v learned about this growing up, saw pictures in school books but I will be able to walk along it and soak in all the history that belongs to it.

this will be a trip of a lifetime and something that in 30 years will only be memories. But they will be memories that I will treasure forever

Aprons

So I got the wise idea that I would sew some aprons a few weeks ago when my friends and I were talking about cooking a full on 5 course meal. I figured we needed fun aprons to cook them in! So last Friday I enlisted the fabulous Lindsey Sirmons to help me with this task. I started buy goggling apron patterns and directions I ended up choosing a pretty basic one to start of with. I found this blog ( http://www.sugarbeecrafts.com/2010/03/full-apron-tutorial.html) and started the task of sewing.

So the first thing I did was gather all the scrap material and ribbon I had around the house and then I had to iron it because it was all super wrinkly. I found out that if you soak the fabric with water and then iron it that the wrinkles would basically disappear

after I ironed it I started cutting out the different pieces of the apron. I cut the base 28x19.5 the top 14x9.5, waste 28x3, I just kinda did the ties by eye

after I did all the prepping the sewing started. I was a tad nervous because I have not used the sewing machine in probably 2 years. So I started with a scrap piece and just practiced and played around with the different settings. the first thing I sewed was the pocket same with the ties I just made it the size I wanted. The cool thing about this pocket was that you sewed the two pieces for the pocket together then you sewed it to the apron. It was a double pocket and I don't know if it was supposed to be like this but it was and it was cool.

after i sewed the pocket on it was pretty much down hill from there except for the fact that the sewing machine kept breaking but Lindsey Sermons had the bright idea to goggle the machine and we found the way to fix it.

Little Memories

I don't remember many memories from my childhood. I have discovered that my memory isn't the best in the world. But on memory I have is from when I was younger with my cousins Kiera and Kayla playing in the mud. My mawmaw has the best back yard with a creek and just lots of room to run around in. One afternoon Kiera, Kayla and I decided to make this patch of dirt into a mud pool so we got the water hose and went to work. We used to have so much fun in those days. We don't get together much anymore but I still love those girls to death!

this is my favorite picture of us girls
