Bus driver move that bus!

As I stood and watched all the organized Chaos of the extreme makeover build site I couldn’t help the tears that ran down my cheeks. I stood in the spectators section for a few hours on Monday and Tuesday just watching everyone as they installed dry wall, put in a pool, worked on the roof and so much more on the house. It was so humbling to see all the volunteers, builders, and ABC crew as they works so hard and diligently to complete this house for the Simpson family. It was literally a slab 3 days ago and now it’s becoming a home for a family that’s so deserves.

As I reflect on the time that I spent at the build site one scene sticks out in my mind. I saw an older women just waiting around for something to do, then someone yelled for two volunteers and this women took off running to be able to so that she could be the one to help. As I watched this lady i was reminded that we are all called to serve others around us. This woman was older and it was late in the evening so she was probably a little tired but yet she was still running to help complete the house for a deserving neighbor. This women and Extreme Makeover has been a beautiful reminder for the people of Savannah that we all need to take the time and remember the ones around us. Volunteer and take the time to serve your neighbors whether it’s with a charity in the community or just your neighbor. Do something that will better the world around us!
